Case Study – Oxford Street Retailer

A job came in from one of our newer clients at a large retail store on Oxford Street, London. They had a double fire exit door from their stock room and the panic bar on one of the doors had been removed. They had been making do with securing the door with a padlock, but of course, as a fire exit door this had to be fixed straight away.

An engineer was sent to the store, battling the Central London traffic and parking conditions, and assessed the door. As photographs had been sent to us by the client, the engineer was fully prepared for the job with the two options of panic bars that could work on the existing door. Panic bar was installed and the engineer was happy all was working as it should and now complied to fire regulations.

The following day, the client called back to ask if there was any way we could make that same fire door open from the outside as they needed access for deliveries. We offered a couple of options for handles/knobs that would work as an outside access device and would be compatible with the panic bar. The clients made their choice and requested us to come back to fit it at our earliest convenience. The part arrived the next day and the engineer returned to fit it that afternoon. What a great impression to our new clients!! Another job where our emergency locksmith service in London proves our worth!!
